Open Forum Meeting with a target of agreeing a Response to the Law Commission’s Consultation on ‘Protection of Official Data’ Proposed revision to the Official Secrets Act to ensure that it is fit for the digital age.
Event Details
The Law Commission has published a consultation paper which suggests ways to improve the law around the protection of official information.
We will be discussing the 28 questions in the document
The relevant statutes - the Officials Secrets Acts in particular - are being independently reviewed to ensure that the law is keeping pace with the challenges of the 21st century.
What sort of improvement could be put to the protection that is currently afforded to official information?
