With the unprecedented global COVID-19 pandemic, the health and wellbeing of our students, training providers, colleagues and staff is paramount.

Updates to examinations held in Sri Lanka and change of venue
Due to the prevailing power crisis in Sri Lanka, the British Council have informed BCS that they may be forced to conduct the exams without standard ventilation, air-conditioning or power supply at the test venues. This may result in adjustments to your usual test environment to ensure that they are able to carry out your exams without disruptions or cancellations. The British Council want to assure you that every effort is being taken to offer you a comfortable exam experience. However, unfortunately the situation may be beyond their control.

BCS exams will comply with all local government guidelines. The British Council is in regular contact with us and exams for other exam boards are currently going ahead. If there are any changes to your BCS exam, the information will be shown here so please check this webpage frequently and especially before your exam.

Please note: One change we can confirm is for all candidates registered to take their BCS exam in Kandy. Your exam venue has changed and will now be held at Royal Kandyan, 833, Peradeniya Road, Kandy, Sri Lanka.

Please be advised: We will only consider transfer requests due to medical reasons, and you are required to send us a medical certificate covering the dates in which you were due to sit your exams. This must be sent to exams@bcs.uk within two weeks of the date of your examinations.

The 14-day transfer window will apply, meaning you have 14 days from the date on which you received your admission letter to request to transfer your exams free of charge to the next available session. Any candidate who does not want to sit their booked exams, and is outside of the 14-day window, will be required to register and pay for their exams again in the next session.

If your transfer has not been approved by BCS, and you do not sit your exam you will be marked as absent.

Exams are held in April and October each year. Please note that not all exams are held in each session, so you may have to wait a year to sit your exam if you request a transfer.
