Future of Productivity

The South Yorkshire Branch would like to thank The Training Foundry for generously sponsoring this event.

Thursday 21 October 2010, 5.30pm - 7.30pm

Nick Umney, Microsoft (UK)

Find out how technology could transform the way we get things done at school, at work, and in the home over the next 5 to 10 years. Microsoft's long-term productivity vision explores how we will create and share content; collaborate across teams, organisations and networks; and how we will gain contextually relevant and anticipative insights based on preferences and intent. All these scenarios are showcasing real, emerging technologies explored with various Microsoft product and research teams as well as at Microsoft partners and across the industry.

Nick has over 20 years experience in the IT Industry performing a diverse number of roles including Software Developer, IT Support Technician and Technical Solutions Architect. Prior to joining Microsoft Nick was responsible for designing and building web-based customer applications for a large retail organisation. He has worked in the Microsoft Public Sector team for over eight years covering Education, Healthcare and latterly Central Government. He is currently the Lead Technical Strategist for Public Administration, National Security and Public Safety.
