Synopsis:

Data can be the wallflower at the corporate or project party, never getting the attention that is required until disaster strikes. This should not be a surprise. It is increasingly recognised that in a digital age a failure to manage the relevant data to the standards (implicitly) necessary to support quality objectives or salient legislation, risks either expensive commercial failure; harm to society, punitive fines or a combination of all three.

In this presentation, Julian Schwarzenbach and Glen Vaal from the BCS Data Management Specialist Group will illustrate why Data management is important, the far-reaching scope of activity involved; insight into the future and the potential for a variety of different rewarding careers.
