Date:
Tuesday 26 July 2011

Synopsis:

Our speaker for this event was Dave Reynolds of Epimorphics Ltd.

Linked Data is an approach to publishing data on the web, building upon the W3C semantic web standards. The past few years have seen a diverse and growing volume of data published as linked data, with applications in both the commercial and public sectors. Dave's presentation explained the concept of Linked Data, its approach to modelling information and its strengths and weaknesses. Although the techniques are applicable in any setting, the presentation drew on examples of data published by central and local UK government agencies.
