Increasingly we are aware of Experian as a leading company in personal credit information. That success has been built on a foundation of data governance and custodianship at the highest level of quality, as value is derived from the myriad financial transactions which we all undertake. To achieve this Experian have become experts in data profiling and they have developed software tools to help them achieve this, including the Pandora suite that is now available as a product in its own right.

Jim Williams is a data scientist at  Experian and an experienced speaker in the subject of data profiling and its value during IT projects and afterwards in “Business as Usual”. Attendees at this BCS DMSG evening event learned about the drivers within Experian that lead to the development of advanced data profiling techniques and how automated functionality such as that embodied within Pandora is essential to reduce project risk due to data migration issues and ensure initial and ongoing transformation success through assisted data governance.
