Thursday 16 November 2006

6.30 for 7.00pm

Ken Duncan, Kenega Training Ltd

Southampton Solent University, Herbert Collins Building, room HC024

Dr Ken Duncan is a freelance trainer and consultant in the communications industry with over 15 years experience.

This talk is designed to introduce the attendees to the underpinning protocols and likely implementations of VoIP. The major signalling methods such as SIP, MGCP, H323 and Cisco ‘Skinny’ protocols will be discussed. It will be a technical presentation but should be suitable for a wide audience. A basic understanding of IP and voice would be an advantage.

Some practical equipment will be brought along to demonstrate the technology to interested parties on conclusion.
