Richard Moore has enjoyed a thirty two year career in computing engineering, mostly working for IBM. In this talk, Richard will provide a brief history of the IBM mainframe from System/360 to System-Z. He will explain why it was so revolutionary and why despite the naysayers and pedlars of gloom, it continues to carve out a healthy living for itself, as well as continuing to push the boundaries.
